Vryburg – Early Saturday morning, chaos erupted on Market Road when a side tipper truck crashed straight into a second-hand car dealership, destroying several cars and leaving a trail of destruction.
According to witnesses, the accident happened just after 05:00 when the truck, for reasons still unknown, veered off the road and smashed through the dealership’s fence and into the yard.
Several parked vehicles took a heavy beating, some ending up piled on top of each other.
Adding fuel to the fire, the truck driver apparently decided he had seen enough and bolted from the scene.
By the time emergency services rocked up, the driver was nowhere to be found, leaving behind a massive mess and a lot of unanswered questions.
Videos doing the rounds on social media show the massive side tipper lodged deep inside the dealership, with wrecked cars scattered all over the place. Bakkies, sedans – you name it – all flattened like empty Coke cans.

It’s not yet clear whether the truck had mechanical issues, brake failure, or if the driver simply lost control.
Some okes on the scene were quick to speculate that fatigue could be a factor, but SAPS says investigations are still ongoing.
Luckily, no injuries have been reported so far, but the dealership owner is left counting the costs – and it’s not looking cheap.
If you’ve got any info about the driver or what went down, Vryburg SAPS is asking you to come forward.
