WATCH: Tanker truck crashes and catch fire in Johannesburg 20200401 124241

A petrol tanker truck driver is lucky to be alive after escaping from his truck cab just moments before it burst into flames on Kliprivier drive in Johannesburg South, Southern Courier reported.
 
This after he lost control of the rig while negotiating a sharp curve.

He was transporting petrol to Rosettenville when the truck crashed and caught fire on R556 on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Booysen’s CID Warrant officer Stephanus Van Staden, “the driver was alone in the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved during the incident,” said Stephanus

“The driver sustained a slight wound on his back which he got as he jumped out of the truck,” added Stephanus

Fox Security Medical Services and City of Johannesburg’s fire emergencies on the scene putting out the fire.
