A dramatic crash involving a taxi, a medium truck, and a heavy duty tow truck was caught on camera on the N3 on Saturday 08 February 2025.
In the video, recorded from a rear-facing camera on the tow truck, a medium delivery truck is seen attempting to overtake the tow truck, which is moving on the far-left lane.
The medium truck is in the centre lane, while another vehicle is approaching in the fast lane.
A few moments later, a taxi following behind the truck being towed tries to overtake, but the driver seemingly misjudges the available space.
As the taxi moves into the centre lane, it collides with the medium truck in a side-swipe motion. The impact sends the taxi veering into the towed truck, causing another collision.
Despite the crash, the taxi remained upright, avoiding what could have been a disastrous rollover that might have resulted in injuries or fatalities for its passengers.
This accident highlights the dangers of reckless overtaking, especially in high-traffic zones like the N3. The video serves as a crucial reminder for drivers to exercise patience and caution when manoeuvring around heavy vehicles.
