Watch: Thick snow on N1 between Hanover and Richmond cause major traffic disruption

Travelling between Hanover and Richmond on N1 in Northern Cape, has been a nightmare for motorists after a think blanket of snow covered the highway on Tuesday morning.

Truck drivers who are stuck in the traffic have been sending videos and pictures of the trouble they are going through.

There are reports of trucks jack-knifing and other accidents related to the slippery road surfaces which have been there from this morning.

Truckers are urged to avoid the stretch of the highway affected by the snow.
