A shocking dashcam video has surfaced showing a terrifying near-miss between a car and an articulated truck travelling on the wrong side of the road — on a blind bend!
In the clip, the recording car is cruising along, minding its own business, when it approaches a sharp left-hand curve. It’s one of those no-nonsense bends — clearly marked with double solid lines to keep drivers in check. But out of nowhere, a truck appears from the opposite direction, completely in the oncoming lane.
The truck, a Volvo pulling a tautliner, is seen heading straight toward the dashcam vehicle, giving the driver absolutely zero warning. With just seconds to react, the car’s driver hits brakes hard while trying to keep the vehicle steady. The trucker then makes a desperate swerve back into their lane — narrowly avoiding what would’ve been a head-on smash of epic proportions.
It’s still unclear what caused the truck to veer into the wrong lane in the first place. Whether it was a distraction, brake failure, or just plain reckless driving, one thing’s for sure — that manoeuvre was a disaster waiting to happen.
This kind of thing highlights just how important defensive driving is, especially when tackling blind bends on single-carriageway roads. One wrong move and it’s game over.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident — but it’s a stark reminder to always expect the unexpected out there.
