Watch: Truck driver found hanging from tree after accident

A truck driver was found hanging from a tree after he survived a single vehicle accident in Zambia on Monday afternoon.

Videos of the accident scene started circulating online showing the badly damaged truck and the victim hanging from a tree not far from the truck.

Zambia Police spokesperson Esther Katongo confirmed the incident to an SA Trucker correspondent in Lusaka saying officers arrived at the scene to find the man, presumed to be the driver, hanging from a tree, tied with a strap.

“Currently we have no witness to the crash and we cannot confirm if the hanging was a suicide or something else, we will know as the investigations progress,” Katongo said.

Katongo has called for anyone who witnessed anything in connection with the tragedy to contact the nearest police station.
