A truck driver was tragically killed in a crash on the N3 Durban-bound just after the Cato Ridge interchange on Thursday morning.
According to witnesses, the driver lost control of his Mercedes-Benz Actros pulling a triaxle trailer loaded with a refrigerated container. The truck overturned at a curve, ejecting the driver from the vehicle.
Paramedics arrived on scene but sadly declared the man deceased. The exact cause of the crash has not yet been established.

Traffic was heavily affected, with only one southbound lane open while emergency services attended to the scene.
