Durban – Traffic was severely backed up for more than 10km on the N3 northbound at Van Reenen’s pass on Sunday night after a truck caught alight on the pass which was already packed up with traffic leaving KZN.
No one has been injured in the incident.
Earlier on the N3 Toll Concession had warned motorists to avoid the area or delay their trip because of the huge surge of traffic leaving KZN.
Authorities instructed the Tugela Toll plaza to open only three lanes to try and ease traffic on the pass.
