PONGOLA – A truck driver lost his life in a horrific head-on collision involving two side tipper trucks on the N2 near Itshelejuba, outside Pongola, on Sunday morning.
According to witnesses, one of the trucks veered into the oncoming lane, leading to the devastating crash.
The impact left one driver trapped in his vehicle as it caught fire, while the other managed to escape with minor injuries.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but by the time they arrived, the trapped driver had succumbed to the blaze.
Firefighters battled to extinguish the flames as authorities began their investigations into the cause of the crash.
