Maputo – Traffic on the N4 in Maputo has come to a complete standstill following two serious truck accidents earlier today.
According to truck drivers caught in the massive backlog, three trucks were involved in an initial collision. Shortly afterwards, another truck rear-ended one of the vehicles that had slowed down to avoid the first crash.
The driver involved in the secondary collision was trapped inside his cab, with recovery operations currently underway. The condition of those involved in both accidents is not yet known.

Authorities are on the scene, and motorists are urged to avoid the area until the roadway has been cleared. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.
