A collision involving two articulated trucks and a double-cab bakkie brought traffic to a standstill on the N11, about 20km from Newcastle towards Ladysmith, near Chelmsford Dam, on Thursday morning.
According to information received by SA Trucker, two people sustained minor injuries in the crash. The injured were treated on scene before being transported to a local hospital for further care.
Details surrounding the cause of the crash are still unclear. However, video footage of the scene submitted to SA Trucker suggests that the flatbed truck and a dry bulk tanker may have been involved in a side-swipe collision. The impact seemingly caused the tanker to veer off course, smashing into a double-cab bakkie before leaving the road.
