Watch: Zigzagging Truck Crash Captured at Infamous Ngezi Bridge in Zimbabwe

A terrifying crash at the notorious Ngezi Bridge in Zimbabwe has once again put the spotlight on one of the region’s most dangerous trucking hotspots.

In newly surfaced footage, a truck is seen swerving uncontrollably along the road moments before impact. The video, captured by a motorist following behind, shows the heavy vehicle zigzagging across lanes, raising suspicions that the driver may have been fatigued, dozing off, or even unconscious behind the wheel.

At times, the truck’s brake lights flicker, suggesting brief attempts to regain control. But the situation quickly spirals out of control.

As the truck approaches the narrow bridge, things get properly hectic. An oncoming vehicle is forced to stop completely as the truck occupies both lanes while drifting side to side. In what looks like a last-ditch correction, the truck suddenly pulls left, but it’s already too late.

The truck crashes into the bridge structure, bringing the chaos to a violent end. At this stage, the condition of the driver remains unknown.

But for many drivers, especially those who’ve run that route before, this isn’t surprising.

The Ngezi Bridge has built a reputation as a serious danger zone for heavy vehicles. In a previous incident, two chrome-laden trucks plunged off the same bridge, injuring both drivers after reportedly losing control while trying to avoid a stationary vehicle on the bridge. The trucks ended up in the river below, leaving a devastating scene and raising questions about safety on that stretch.
