14 Injured as Greyhound Bus Overturns on N10 in Eastern Cape

Fourteen people were injured when a long-distance Greyhound bus overturned on the N10 between Cradock and Cookhouse in the Eastern Cape last night.

The driver reportedly lost control due to wet and slippery conditions, causing the bus to veer off the road and roll over.

The Greyhound bus was carrying 33 passengers at the time of the incident.

Emergency services quickly arrived on the scene, providing critical assistance and ensuring all passengers were accounted for and safe.

Among the injured, three passengers sustained serious injuries and were transported to Andries Vosloo Hospital for urgent care.

Eleven others suffered minor injuries, while the remaining passengers were treated at the scene and did not require hospitalisation.

Eastern Cape Transport MEC, Xolile Nqatha, praised the Rapid Response teams for their swift and effective action.

“The quick response and professionalism of our emergency services ensured that all 33 lives were saved, despite the challenging conditions,” Nqatha stated.

Further investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
