Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 10 Literacy level (Verbally and Numerically literate)
- Code EC driver’s license with valid PrDP (DGP)
- 3 years experience driving an Ultra Heavy Vehicle
- Must be 25 years of age and above
- Must be prepared to work weekends and public holidays
- Proficiency in defensive driving techniques
- Familiarity with function and location of vehicle components
- Knowledge of reporting procedures for emergencies and defects
- Competency in vehicle inspections and operating a fire extinguisher
- Ability to maximize vehicle cost-effectiveness and efficiency
- Proficiency in vehicle loading techniques
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare vehicle for trip and operate Ultra-heavy duty vehicles.
- Load, Transport, and offload vehicles.
- Handle required documentation and perform ancillary duties.
- Follow all reasonable instructions from Supervisor.
- Prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Maintain a safe driving record and clean criminal record.
- Ensure housekeeping of vehicles, uniform, and PPE.
- Adhere to and promote SOP’s and Safety Procedures.
- Successfully undergo/complete the following:
- Medical evaluation
- USCS training modules
- Induction processes
- Practical driving evaluation
- Verification of a clean criminal record
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure the vehicle is not overloaded as per the National Road Traffic Act.
- Oversee the offloading process or operate offloading equipment.
- Secure the load before departure.
- Open and close tarpaulins where applicable.
- Deal with Customers in a professional and efficient manner.
