Durban Trucking Boss Runs Amok, Repeatedly Rams Car and Knocks Woman Over

A disturbing incident unfolded on Road 719 in Montford, Chatsworth in Durban last week when a trucking boss lost control of his emotions and engaged in destructive behaviour. Witnesses were shocked as the man repeatedly crashed his white Toyota Fortuner into a white VW Golf and then went on to knock down a woman who was observing the chaotic scene.

The victim, a 32-year-old nurse from Montford working at Chatsmed Gardens Hospital, suffered severe injuries and is currently in critical but stable condition at a local hospital. The identity of the trucking boss involved in the incident, known to SA Trucker, is being withheld at this time.

The situation brought Road 719 in Montford to a standstill as the man allegedly rammed into the white Golf multiple times and then proceeded to strike the unsuspecting woman who happened to be nearby. Disturbing footage of the incident captures the man’s aggressive behaviour, including displaying his genitals to onlookers.

The injured woman, identified as Sunayna Jeeram, remains hospitalized and underwent a skin graft on Monday, June 19. Rita Mootheram, the victim’s 77-year-old grandmother, expressed her shock upon witnessing her granddaughter’s condition.

“When I saw her motionless body lying on the ground, I initially feared the worst. My granddaughter did not deserve such a horrifying ordeal. Everything happened so rapidly, but I’m thankful that she is now in stable condition,” said Mootheram.

Shanon Ramdas, the 29-year-old owner of the white Golf, provided his account of the incident. He explained that he had been reversing his vehicle out of his yard when the trucking boss parked in front of him, leapt out of his car and forcibly removed the keys from Ramdas’ ignition. The man then proceeded to repeatedly ram his vehicle into Ramdas’ car before directing verbal abuse at his wife.

“I asked my son to fetch the spare key after he broke mine and threw it on the ground. While I was planning to move my vehicle with the spare key, he got back in his van, drove toward a nearby speed hump, reversed, and smashed into my car again,” Ramdas recounted.

Ramdas further stated that the trucking boss began comparing the value of their respective vehicles, and to their shock, he exposed his genitals while making inappropriate remarks. Concerned for his mother’s safety, Ramdas swiftly took her inside their yard to protect her from any harm. A representative from the trucking boss’s family declined to comment on the incident, citing ongoing legal proceedings. However, they did mention that the accused also sustained injuries and sought medical assistance.

According to the victim’s family, a case of attempted murder has been filed with SAPS Chatsworth. The precise circumstances leading up to the incident remain unclear, and the police have not provided a comment as of the time of this publication.
