driver robbed of sheep carcasses

KwaZulu-Natal police are investigating a case of robbery after a truck driver was hijacked and robbed of eight sheep carcasses in the Estcourt area.

It is alleged that two suspects pounced on the unsuspecting truck driver at Shell Ultra-City on the N3 just before midnight on July 24.

He had stopped to fill up diesel when the two suspects pointed guns at him and forced him to drive off with them.

“While he was inside his truck, the suspects approached him and pointed a firearm at him. He was robbed of his two cell phones,” said police spokesperson Captain Bongani Nyathi.

The truck driver was then instructed to drive into a nearby bush where the suspects forced him to open the truck’s trailer.
