September fuel prices cut smaller than predicted

The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy has released the official petrol and diesel price adjustments for September.

Starting from Wednesday, September 6th, motorists can expect a massive increase in diesel prices, ranging from R2.76 to R2.84 per litre.

Petrol prices will also see an increase of R1.71 per litre.

These price hikes are a result of several factors.

International product prices for petrol, diesel, and illuminating paraffin have risen during the review period.

Additionally, the Rand weakened against the US Dollar, leading to higher Basic Fuel Prices for petrol, diesel, and illuminating paraffin, with increases of 29.60 c/l, 31.33 c/l, and 31.58 c/l, respectively.
