A foreign truck driver has been robbed of all his belongings and his truck petrol bombed in Pieters Industrial area in Ladysmith on Friday morning.
It is alleged that a gang of robbers stopped the man’s truck and asked for his licence, when he produced a foreign driver’s licence, the suspects allegedly ordered him to jump off the truck and let a South African take the truck.
It’s alleged that the men accused the driver of stealing jobs for locals.
The suspects then petrol bombed the truck completely destroying the horse.
Police are investigating the motive for the attack.
A case of truck hijacking and causing malicious damage to property has been opened at Ladysmith Police Station.
