North West derailed goods train looters warned about poisoned grain

North West police have warned community members who looted a goods train which derailed near Matolong Village in Taung of poisoned grain which is not fit for human consumption.

A goods train carrying 40 wagons of grain derailed on Wednesday afternoon in Taung.

Members of the community reportedly looted the train for grain.

SAPS said in a Tweet that the grain is treated with fertilizers and poisons and not fit for human consumption.

Community members are requested to not eat it, as it will make them sick.
