An accident involving two trucks and a bakkie near the Winterton offramp on the N3 highway has claimed the life of one person and left two others injured on Thursday night.
One of the injured passengers of the truck sustained serious injuries whilst the driver was fortunate to escape with only minor injuries.
Sadly, a third occupant of the truck, a female, was killed and heavily entrapped underneath the wreckage.
A source on scene claimed that there was a broken down truck on the highway, and mechanics were busy with repairs when it got rear-ended by the other truck.
The third vehicle involved was the roadside assistance vehicle.

The driver of the rear-ended truck was not injured.
The exact cause of the collision is still unclear and will be subjected to further investigations by the relevant authorities.
The collision resulted in the N3 being closed for a few hours.
