An alleged cable thief met a tragic end after being run over by a truck on Beacon Way, next to the Parow Traffic Department in Cape Town on Tuesday afternoon.
Eyewitness reports suggest a harrowing sequence of events leading to the fatal accident.
According to sources and video footage, the man daringly hopped onto the moving truck and managed to steal an electric cable.
However, his escape plan took a tragic turn when he attempted to jump off.
In a desperate bid to flee, he reportedly missed his footing and horrifically fell into the path of the trailer’s wheels.

The consequences were immediate and fatal.
Emergency services responded quickly but there was nothing they could do to save the man’s life.
He was pronounced dead at the location.
The local authorities are currently investigating the incident, with the truck driver and several eyewitnesses being questioned to piece together the exact sequence of events.
