Tragedy struck on Friday afternoon as a horrific accident claimed one life and left another individual critically injured in KwaZulu-Natal.
The accident occurred at approximately 2:30 pm on Sydenham Hill and Currie Road.
According to reports from ALS Paramedics Medical Services spokesperson, Garrith Jamiesson, the accident occurred when two vehicles collided at the intersection.
In a CCTV video shared on social media, a car enters the intersection and fails to yield for another vehicle coming from its left hand side direction.
The car hits the rear wheel on the right hand side of the car approaching from the left causing it to lose control.

Subsequently, the vehicle careens off the road and rolls multiple times down Sydenham Hill.
The vehicle eventually came to a rest on its roof, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
Eyewitnesses at the scene recounted the harrowing moments as a passenger was ejected from the vehicle during the violent descent down the hill.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene to render assistance, but tragically, one person succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Another person was found in critical condition and promptly transported to the nearest medical facility for urgent treatment.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released, pending notification of their next of kin.
