A truck was hijacked on Tuesday afternoon on the R40 in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga after robbers in a Toyota double cab bakkie forced the driver to stop.
In dashcam provided by the company, the truck can be seen moving at 77km/h behind a white Toyota bakkie.
The bakkie driver applies brakes in a bid to stop the truck. Fearing for his life, the truck driver stops the truck.
Two men jump off from the bakkie and approach the driver while pointing guns at him. The driver is left with no choice but to surrender.
Truck hijackings at this time of the year increase as the festive season nears. As such truckers are urged to be more aware of their surroundings and stay alert.
