Cape Town Container Terminal reports first COVID-19 case 20200509 175600

Transnet says the Cape Town Container Terminal has reported its first case of coronavirus infection.

In a statement, Transnet management said that the employee who tested positive for COVID-19 was already in self quarantine.

“Management of Transnet Port Terminals has put in place best practice measures to safeguard the well being of all the employees and parties conducting business in the Terminal,” the statement read.

Transnet says the measures in terms of the regulations, include cleaning facilities and equipment with disinfectant and the use of Personal Protective Equipment as well as adhering to hygiene management.
