Both Drivers Killed in Truck and Ambulance Head-on Collision on N10 Near Cradock

Two lives have been tragically lost in a horrific head-on collision on the N10 road between Cradock and Cookhouse on Wednesday morning.

The collision, which occurred around 7 am, involved an articulated truck and an ambulance, claiming the lives of both drivers.

According to Unathi Binqose, the provincial spokesperson, the collision took place when the articulated truck collided with the ambulance on the N10 road, approximately 45 km towards Cookhouse.

The impact of the collision was severe, resulting in fatal injuries to both drivers, who tragically lost their lives at the scene.

Reports indicate that the truck driver was alone in the vehicle at the time of the collision, while there was one crew member present in the ambulance.

The crew member sustained serious injuries and was swiftly transported to the Cradock Provincial Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Unathi Binqose confirmed that a case of culpable homicide has been initiated, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are currently underway to ascertain the factors contributing to the tragic incident.

At present, the names of the deceased have not been released pending notification of their families.
