Mpumalanga police have arrested a 50-year-old suspect who they found driving a hijacked truck and two trailers at Tweefontein on Wednesday afternoon.
The MAN TGS truck and superlink flat deck trailers had been hijacked in Pretoria earlier that day.
The police received information from a tracking company that the truck was around Tweefontein.
Police swiftly acted and searched around for the truck until the truck was found on the gravel road next to Vivo garage.
“Police then stopped the driver who alighted from the truck and ran away. The member chased the suspect on foot and arrested him,” police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said.

The arrested suspect is expected to appear be Kwamhlanga Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 21 January 2022 for possession of a suspected stolen vehicle.
