One person has been killed in a collision involving a side tipper truck and a bakkie on the N3 northbound just after Nottingham Road off-ramp towards Mooi River on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services are on the scene on the N3 northbound. Traffic is moving at a snail’s pace as only one lane is open to traffic.
According to preliminary reports, the side tipper truck driver lost control of his vehicle while driving on the N3 southbound lane and then crossed onto the oncoming carriageway.
The truck collided with a bakkie which was travelling towards Mooi River.

The bakkie driver lost control after the collision causing his vehicle to overturn more than once.
Paramedics at the scene have reported that one person from the bakkie died in the accident.
There is an obstruction to the left lane while recovery operations take place. This is a developing story.
