Three Drivers Killed in 5 Truck Crash on Trans Kalahari Highway

Three truck drivers have lost their lives following a horrific crash involving five trucks on Trans Kalahari Highway in Botswana on Friday at 10:40 am.

The three met their fate when they were involved in the serious collision which led their vehicles to catch fire.

Some drivers are believed to have fled the scene after the crash.

One truck driver for Coleman Pty Ltd, Elias Natangwe Abel, who survived the crtold a Botswana publication, Midweek Sun, that he hit the truck which was stuck in the middle of the road as it was blocked by the veld fire.

Some other vehicles subsequently crashed into them and caught alight.

The severity of the crash was worsened bu the fact that one of the trucks was transporting diesel.

Fire fighters had to wait for the diesel to burn out before they could do anything, Midweek Sun reported.

The cause of the cfash is being investigated.
