sam holdings owner bail

Sam Holdings owner, Sambulo Bruce Chabalala, popularly known as Sam Mshengu appeared in Witbank Magistrate’s court for a bail hearing earlier today.

According to the Hawks, the matter has been adjourned for Monday the 16th of September 2019 for bail judgement.

He remains in custody.

Chabalala was nabbed at a restaurant at Emalahleni’s Highveld Mall after an alleged attempt to pay home affairs officials R40,000 “to destroy reports of a fraudulently obtained South African identity document against him”, said the Hawks.

The Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crimes Investigation unit swooped on him shortly afterwards and found an unlicensed firearm in his vehicle, a green Mercedes-Benz, one of many luxury cars he owns.

SA Trucker is overwhelmed with the enquiries from truck drivers who are concerned about the future of their colleagues at Sam Holdings group if the case has a negative outcome on Chabalala.

Updates on the matter will come as the case progresses.
