A truck driver was burnt beyond recognition following a fiery crash on the R617 near Landies Hill, just outside of Boston, KwaZulu-Natal.
The collision, which occurred on Sunday afternoon, drew a swift response from Midlands EMS Howick crews.
Upon arrival at the scene, paramedics were confronted with a truck engulfed in flames.
Firefighters were already on site, battling the intense blaze that had engulfed the vehicle.
Despite their efforts, the driver was found trapped inside the burning cab, unable to escape the inferno.
A passenger, who was ejected from the vehicle, was discovered nearby in serious condition.
The injured passenger received immediate medical attention and was rushed to the nearest hospital for further treatment.
Sadly, the driver did not survive the ordeal.

Authorities confirmed that the individual was burnt beyond recognition, making the identification process challenging.
