KwaZulu-Natal police are looking for a Zimbabwean truck driver, Simbarashe Petukai (32) who allegedly disappeared with a container loaded with copper valued at R600 000 on the 14th of July 2020.

Petukai is being sought for questioning in regards to the theft of a trailer loaded with a 20-foot container containing bags of copper.

On Tuesday, July 14, Petukai left his company in Bayhead, Durban and was expected to deliver the container with serial number GLDU 514 4526 at the harbour, however, he allegedly hitched the trailer to another truck and disappeared with the load.

The registration on the trailer is ND 548 032 and it’s still missing.

The copper is valued at approximately R600 000 and was expected to be exported.

Petukai is a 32-year-old Zimbabwean national who was employed by his company for six months.

He is believed to be linked to a syndicate that targets shipping containers carrying high valued goods.
