A MyCiti bus has been involved in a serious crash with a sedan on Nelson Mandela Boulevard outbound on Thursday evening, 30 June.
The bus left its lane and landed on the oncoming lane trapping the car underneath it.
The accident caused massive delays to Cape Town motorists in the vicinity of the central business district.

The City of Cape Town said its traffic officials are currently dealing with the accident along Nelson Mandela Boulevard – outbound – before Browning Road, just after 19h00.
A MyCiti bus-train and a motor vehicle were involved in the crash.

All the outgoing lanes on Nelson Mandela Boulevard are closed to traffic and motorists are advised to use Melbourne Road as an alternative route.
Photographs and videos from the scene show that the motor vehicle was crushed beneath the bus. It appears that the heavier vehicle landed on top of the car.
It was nit immediately clear if anyone was injured in the crash.
