There has been a serious truck accident on the N1 about 10km after Leeu-Gamka towards Beaufort West around 21h00 on Tuesday evening.

According to reports from SA Truckers on the scene, the highway is completely closed on both directions.

It is alleged that four trucks were involved in the crash, including a car carrier truck. All the vehicles being transported by the truck were engulfed in flames.

At the time of reporting, information about casualties was not immediately available.
