n4 crash

Queue-jumping trucks have allegedly caused a serious crash on the N4 outside Komatipoort, leaving two drivers with serious injuries and another with minor injuries.

The incident occurred when one truck, reportedly attempting to jump the queue, was overtaking the line of trucks waiting on the N4.

In a tragic turn of events, another truck, travelling in the opposite direction and also attempting to jump the queue, made an illegal U-turn directly in the path of the overtaking vehicle, resulting in a catastrophic collision.

The collision didn’t end there, as the overtaking truck, now out of control, plowed into another truck patiently waiting in the queue.

Two truck drivers sustained serious injuries, while a third driver suffered minor injuries. The severity of their injuries necessitated immediate medical attention, and they were promptly transported to nearby medical facilities.

Eyewitnesses at the scene described the aftermath as a scene of chaos, with mangled trucks and debris scattered across the N4. Traffic was brought to a standstill as authorities worked to clear the wreckage and investigate the circumstances leading to the collision.

Preliminary reports suggest that both reckless driving, with one truck attempting to jump the queue, and the illegal U-turn contributed to the collision.
