The Itshelejuba community near Pongola is currently in a state of tense calm following an incident this afternoon where a side tipper truck crashed into a house, resulting in one fatality.
Reports suggest that the truck driver lost control, veering off the road and subsequently crashing into a residential building.
The accident happened on the N2 just after the Itshelejuba Hospital towards Pongola.
At the time of the accident, four people were inside the house.

Tragically, a 25-year-old male inside the house sustained fatal injuries.
The other three individuals from the house have been transported to the hospital for medical attention.
South African Police Service (SAPS) and traffic police officers are on the scene, handling the situation.
