A truck driver has been killed after his truck crashed into another truck on N3 at the Van Reenen’s Pass this evening.
According to truckers at the scene, two trucks collided head into tail fashion and burst into flames.
A container freight truck and side tipper interlink truck were involved in the crash.
It is alleged that the container freight collided into the back of the side tipper interlink.
“It looks like the Volvo truck lost brakes and came down the hill uncontrollably ending up crashing into the side tipper,” said a trucker who arrived at the scene immediately after the crash.
The driver of the Volvo truck was sadly burnt to death in his cab.
Durban bound traffic is going contra-flow on the northbound lane.
