The scene captured in a 30-second dashcam clip unfolds near the Mooi River offramp toll on the N3 north on Sunday night.
The trucker approaches a Stop sign, preparing to turn left towards the truck stop.
Meanwhile, the VW Polo is observed travelling from right to left, heading towards the Mooi River truck stop.
Upon reaching the Stop sign and assessing the situation, the truck driver begins his manouvre after ensuring the coast is clear.

However, as he starts to make a wide turn, his attention is abruptly drawn to the Polo reversing directly into his path, perilously close to a collision.
With quick reflexes, the trucker manages to bring his vehicle to a halt just in time, narrowly avoiding disaster.
The Polo driver, seemingly oblivious to the danger they caused, proceeds to turn right and continues on their way towards the ramp plaza to join the N3 northbound.
Meanwhile, the trucker proceeds with their manouvre, turning left towards the truck stop, undoubtedly shaken by the close call.
