One person was killed when a runaway truck crashed into other vehicles on the R34/R66 at Denny Dalton near Ulundi in northern KwaZulu-Natal on Monday evening.

The fatal crash happened not far from where another serious crash involving four trucks occurred earlier on the same day. The fiery truck crash involving four side tipper trucks was also caught on dashcam.

One person sustained serious injuries in the earlier crash.

The cause of the accident is not known at this stage. One count of culpable homicide in being investigated. There is an obstruction on the road, RTI Eshowe is controlling traffic.”

Monday’s incidents follow Friday’s tragic crash between a bakkie and a truck where 21 people, including 18 children, were killed.
