One person was killed when his vehicle collided with a truck on the N2 between Ballito and Chaka’s Rock on Thursday morning.
The two occupants of the truck were also seriously injured in the accident, which occurred just before 9am, and were stabilised before being transported to nearby hospitals.
Unfortunately, the bakkie driver, man in his twenties, died on the scene.
Further details on the cause of the accident are currently unclear and will be subject to police investigation.

“The right hand lanes of both the N2 south- and north-bound remain affected to allow services to continue their work on scene,” said IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson, Samantha Meyrick at the time.
“We expect traffic to be backlogged for the next several hours.”
Motorists are urged to make use of alternative routes until the scene has cleared.
