Drag racing cars plough into spectators injuring 15 in Rustenburg

 

Fifteen people were injured after three cars collided and ploughed into spectators during an alleged illegal drag racing on Zendling road in Rustenburg on Sunday afternoon.

ER24 and several other services responded to the scene, arriving at 17h10 to find a lot of people injured.

It’s alleged that two vehicles that were drag racing collided with each other and crashed into a third vehicle and veered off into a crowd of spectators.

Paramedics attended to numerous patients lying along the sidewalk.

Medics assessed the patients and found that fifteen people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical. Fortunately, no fatalities were found.

The patients were treated and provided with advanced life support before various services transported them to nearby hospitals.

The exact details surrounding this incident are unknown, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
