KZN – Bergville. Attempts made to obstruct the N3

The N3TC has confirmed that sporadic attempts have been made to obstruct the N3 Toll Route in KwaZulu-Natal, the latest in the vicinity of the Bergville Interchange. Law enforcement services are deployed along the route to monitor and respond to any incidents aimed at disrupting traffic.

“Although these incidents have been cleared, road users are requested to remain vigilant and to immediately report any problems or potential threats to the 24-hour N3 Helpline on 0800 63 43 57 or via @N3Route on Twitter,” N3TC said.

Western Cape – Worcester. R60 between Worcester and Robertson blocked by protestors

Alternative Routes coming from Worcester side towards Robertson or Robertson to Worcester is the R43 Villiersdorp via Aan De Doorns Via Reiersvlei coming onto R60 Robertson Road. Zwelenthemba Residents to make use of Traub Street Worcester Industrial.

North West – Bloemhof. Tyres burning on N12 between Bloemhof and Christiana

The N12 highway is completely blocked by burning tyres and it’s not passable however law enforcement teams are attending.

Gauteng – Johannesburg. Violence erupts in Hillbrow

Police have thrown what looks like stun grenades at protesters in Central Johannesburg. Reports say students were marching from Hillbrow when the confrontation with police happened. It was not immediately clear what caused the confrontation.

KZN – Durban. EFF protest erupts in Chatsworth

Durban Metro police confirmed an EFF protest was taking place in Chatsworth, south of Durban on Sunday night.

Durban metro police spokesman Senior Superintendent Boysie Zungu said the EFF protest was in Link Road in Shallcross.
