A passenger who was aboard the bus told SA Trucker that the accident happened soon before 23h00 last night. He blamed driver fatigue for the crash.

“I’m at a loss for words on how we managed to endure such a tragedy. I’m not alright, it’s a shame that no one from Eldo came to check on us passengers and drivers after the bus rollover, leaving us to fend for ourselves.”

“We waited for 2-3 hours before receiving medical attention, with the police transporting us as there were no available ambulances.

“It was a chaotic situation where everyone had to look out for themselves. The ambulance eventually arrived and collected two individuals, one with fractured legs and another bleeding from the head.

“I cannot fathom why the drivers were allowed to undertake such a long journey without sufficient rest during the week. Our lives were almost lost,” the survivor told SA Trucker.
