Four men were killed when their sedan collided head-on with a side tipper interlink on the R23 between Standerton and Val on Saturday morning.
Another person was seriously injured while two more passengers escaped with slight injuries.
According to a statement by the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, the four men, all in their 40s.
The driver of the sedan died in the crash.

The driver of the truck was not injured.
All the injured were rushed to the nearby hospital.
“Although the matter is still under investigation, dangerous overtaking is suspected to be the cause,” said Moeti Mmusi, Mpumalanga DCSSL spokesman.
