Hijackers Arrested After Shooting a Truck Driver Dead in Heidelberg

A truck driver of a Durban based company has been shot and killed in a hijacking in the Heidelberg area in Gauteng province.

The trucker was murdered on Saturday morning on the R103 between Petroport and Heidelberg.

According to Heidelberg Times, two suspects were arrested on the same road and detained by SAPS Flying Squad and Heidelberg SAPS.

A firearm was recovered on scene along with the heavy motor vehicle and it’s load.

The circumstances of the arrest of the suspects are not known as the police have not yet commented on the matter.
