Imperial takes delivery of 104 Mercedes-Benz Actros 2645LS/33 Euro V RE trucks

In one of its largest fleet deals, facilitated and completed through its dealership, Cargo Commercial Vehicles Airport (CCVA) in November 2022, Mercedes-Benz Trucks is thrilled to have handed over a considerable fleet of 104 Mercedes-Benz Actros 2645LS/33 Euro V RE models to Imperial, a DP World Company, which is one of the largest logistics providers in Africa.

The recently delivered cutting-edge fleet will play a significant role in the achievement of operational objectives within Imperial’s road freight business, and in helping to keep its fleet apace with technology, innovation, and improved efficiencies.

Commenting on the new fleet, Edwin Hewitt, CEO of Imperial’s Logistics Africa business: “The recent handover is a continuation of the long-standing partnership between Imperial and Mercedes-Benz Trucks. Not only does this fleet meet our stringent quality and safety standards, but also our requirement for on-time delivery and our commitment to making a contingency fleet available for the go-live of a recently acquired contract. We would like to commend Mercedes-Benz Trucks and its relevant dealership for ensuring that our requirements were met, despite challenging operating conditions affecting the supply chain and stock availability. We look forward to our continued partnership.”

Maretha Gerber, Vice President: Sales & Marketing Daimler Truck Southern Africa, weighs in on the successful delivery of the new fleet:

“I could not be more proud of our Mercedes-Benz Trucks team and dealer partner for joining forces to make the Imperial handover a resounding success. We are honoured by their continued confidence in our brand and I strongly believe that the new fleet will be a vital force for Imperial’s long-term business objectives. We value the opportunity and recognise that the strong reputation that our brand already enjoys across the region will further grow through this meaningful partnership. We wish them all the best with their new wheels as they continue to make great strides in the logistics industry.”
