Cape Town Traffic Officers are attending a truck crash scene on FW De Klerk Boulevard (N1) outbound at Marine Drive. It is alleged that a truck has overturned spilling the carrying hazardous chemicals it was transporting onto the road.
Cape Town Traffic Services’ Kevin Jacobs said that no injuries have been reported and the following road closures have been effected as a precautionary measure:
The elevated freeway has been closed to traffic travelling towards the FW De Klerk Blvd. Traffic is being diverted onto Nelson Mandela Boulevard.
Lower Church Road onto the N1 has been closed off.

Marine Drive southbound has been closed at Paarden Island.
The N1 inbound has been diverted onto the M5 Southbound.
The M5 northbound has been closed onto FW De Klerk inbound.
Koeberg road onto the N1 incoming is closed.
The City’s emergency services are on the scene and attending to the incident.
