Recently released CCTV footage has shed light on the steps taken by the killer of South African rapper AKA and his friend Tibz. The heartbreaking murder took place outside a restaurant on Florida Road in Durban on Friday night.
Over the weekend, the first angle of the CCTV footage was shared with the public, revealing the moment of the shooting.
Now, a second angle shows the killer’s path as he approached the group, leading up to the tragic incident.
In the footage, AKA can be seen embracing a friend before the killer arrives on the scene. The attacker walks towards the group, looking over his shoulder as he approaches.
In a flash, he sprints towards AKA, raises his weapon and shoots him point-blank, resulting in his instant death.
The shooter then flees the scene, sprinting in the direction from which he came.
Three enhanced images of the shooter have been released, but they do not provide any clues as to his identity. Authorities are asking for the public’s help in recognizing the attacker and are encouraging anyone with information to contact the police.
