A truck driver has been seriously injured after he lost control of his vehicle and left the road on the R539 at Schoemanskloof Pass in Mpumalanga late on Thursday morning.
The side tipper crash was coming from the N4 direction when the accident happened.
According to SA Truckers who arrived at the scene just after the accident, the trucker was entrapped in his vehicle and they had to wait for emergency rescue personnel to extract him.
After being freed, the truck driver was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
Pictures of the truck taken at the scene show the extensively damaged Scania truck.
The cause of the crash is not known at this stage.
