Two side tipper truck drivers are lucky to have escaped with their lives after their vehicles collided on the R34 road just after Blood River towards Vryheid on Saturday afternoon.
According to one of the truckers, the accident was caused by a car which overtook in front of oncoming traffic.
He said that a car coming from the opposite direction, overtook a truck right in front of him almost colliding with him.
When he tried to avoid the crash by moving to the far left, he lost control of the truck and it left the road.
As he tried to regain control and go back onto the road, he collided with the truck which was overtaken by the car.

Fortunately, both truckers escaped injury but their trucks were badly damaged.
