Watch: 15 Dead as Truck Collides with Minibus Taxi After Hitting Cows on N10 in EC

In a devastating incident on the N10 in Aberdeen, Eastern Cape, fifteen people, including two children, lost their lives in a horrific collision between a fully-loaded taxi and a truck.

According to the Eastern Cape Provincial Transport Department, the tragic crash occurred on Sunday shortly after 11 PM.

The chain of events unfolded when a heavy-duty truck collided with a cow, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

Unathi Binqose, the spokesperson, shared that the taxi was en route to the Western Cape at the time of the accident.

As the truck driver attempted to regain control, the trailer unfortunately veered and struck the fully loaded taxi, resulting in the loss of all lives on board.

Binqose expressed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the MEC for transport in the Eastern Cape, adding that efforts are underway to facilitate the identification of the deceased by their relatives.

In response to this tragedy, the MEC urges all road users and those capable of promoting road safety to take action.

This appeal extends not only to individuals travelling on the roads but also to animal owners whose livestock are contributing to numerous accidents in the Eastern Cape.
